How Green Is Your Pension?

Pensions are personal. Climate puts your retirement, you care in old age when you are most vulnerable, at risk. If the economy contracts by the 20-40% predicted over the next 20-40 years, then so does your pension.

Pensions are material. There are around 7 billion people on the planet. Half of them are in work. Half those in work have an invested pension. That’s around 1.7 billion people. Collectively they have around 66 billion USD invested, and at risk from climate change.

Pensions are not transparent or easy to understand. But think of it this way. Your pension is the biggest bank account you will ever have. It’s the biggest opportunity to make a difference you will ever have. Its your money. Find out where its invested. Challenge where its invested. Move it, if that does not align with your values.
